I found a FT-IR spectrum of Mong Hsu with 3309 series and a little diaspore peak (2040cm-1 shoulder).
This spectra is taken from Mong Hsu sample.

Yes, the chemical composition is too low for Montana and even close to Mong Hsu.
The only thing I worry is that Missouri river material can have less Fe than Rock creek.
